lyrics

Most do fear their own light in the dark
Look away
See it burn

Praised be time as long as there is plenty left on the right side
We never counted days until they faded into a myopic blur
Minds descending into war
Mortal dread, unnoticed, creeping along the dark edges of sanity
An existential reckoning against this apocryphal growth
It’s us we come to loath

A display of hubris and frailty
A thin maginot line across the mind

And so, cursed be the time that was stolen from the golden glow of youth
This intention without use
Countless are the days that are simply wasted in glorious paradigms
And are ending before their prime
Dreadful epiphanies cast lights into the centre of insanity
A triumph of depravity
Pushing us to anger, but in truth it’s fear and by fear we’ll be undone
Lifelines turned into stone

A sad show of a mind that’s not whole
While death is distant, we’re so heedless of our changeable soul

Cleaving, gnashing
Twisted new forms
Weeping, reeling
Portending a horrible storm

Oh, I’ve lived long under stones that stayed unturned
And I will take with me what’s been left unburned
I watch the house go up in flames
I watch the world be set ablaze
Lest we never choose the tragedies of fire over the beauty of embers
